Extension

For the first time in Armenia, Shen has established an organic extension and consultancy service to help farmers who wish to convert from conventional to organic agriculture.

We provide farmers step by step guidance in: 

• prototyping an organic plot without harming biodiversity

• implementing organic farming system requirements

• consulting on pest, disease and weed management

•  proper record keeping, developing and maintaining a management plan

• assisting the farmers in entering into inspection and certification procedure

We also liaise between farmers and processing industry and marketing channels; introducing locally produced and imported bio preparations to the farmers; carry out awareness building activities among regional agricultural authorities and services.
